Mechanical Broadheads
Mechanical Broadheads
Mechanical broadheads fly like field points and open up massive wound channels on impact. The blades stay tucked during flight, then deploy on contact to create cutting diameters that fixed blades can’t match.
Rear-deploying models are the most common – blades sit behind the ferrule and swing open on impact. Front-deploying designs like Swhacker put the blades ahead of the ferrule for better penetration with the same large cut.
The trade-off is simple: you get better accuracy in flight and bigger cuts, but you’re depending on mechanical parts to work when it matters. Modern mechanicals are reliable, but they need sharp blades and proper tuning to perform.
Available in 2-blade and 3-blade configurations with cutting diameters from 1.5″ to over 2.5″. If you struggle with broadhead accuracy or want maximum tissue damage, mechanicals deliver.
